Out of our approx 15 stays at different hotels throughout Europe this summer, this was the worst service of them all. I had booked a "double/twin room", which by international standards means that I have paid for either two single beds or a double bed. When I arrive the receptionist sends me to a room with two single beds (which is less than expected when you're on a honeymoon), then asks me for DKK 25 extra to be "upgraded" to a room with a double bed. After much back and forth I pay the amount and we go to the room. It's not about the money, it's the principle and lack of service and understanding of the situation. Stay away from this hotel if you expect any form of service!

The service that Alex gave me was great, He really did help me with booking the ferry to Sweden. I was unsure what I needed to do and he fix all for me. Top work.
I had a little street noise. But I was on the street side and I enjoy my window's open in summer.

Small, poky room. Duvet too small and too thin - not warm enough. Curtains dont keep out light! Breakfast needs more variety.

Calm and nice. We went to a nearby hotel for swimming with the kids but was glad that we stayed at Somandshjemmet and not at the other hotel, since Somandshjemmet is less lively and has a more relaxed and gentle atmosphere.
I slept between my two kids in a twin bed, and the two beds kept sliding apart during the night with me falling down on the floor...

Great attention of one of the staff.
They did not accept Mastercard. Not acceptable for a 4 star hotel.

perfectly situated for exploring towns and parks nearby
The hotel is just a few steps away from Brysterne and less than a 5-minute walk to the fine Bangsbo Botaniske Have as I stumbled upon beautiful landscapes and charming landmarks. Even though the customer service left much to be desired, I appreciated the clean room and the lovely continental breakfast that fueled my city adventures.

Used as overnight base prior to taking ferry to Oslo. The closeness to the ferry terminal was very important and the free safe parking on site.
Wished the rooms had been a little more spacious. Luxurious is not the term I would use to describe the room however suited our need for overnight room before onward travel from the ferry port acroos the road.

The hotel is conveniently located, just a short walk from the ferry. The staff were super friendly and even offered us a room upgrade! We had a quiet room with a comfy bed and a kettle, a nice touch. It's also handy for exploring nearby areas.

The hotel offers a good breakfast buffet, with a decent continental selection that should satisfy most guests. Rooms maintain a clean and spacious feel, and I found the decor bright and inviting-worth noting if you like a lively atmosphere.
I noticed the hotel rooms let in quite a bit of noise from the street and neighboring rooms, which can be a bit disruptive for light sleepers. Parking spots are a headache-narrow and tight. The rooms tended to get uncomfortably warm during the late afternoon heat.

An easy walk from the ferry with a friendly staff greeting and a surprise room upgrade. The room was quiet, with a comfy bed and a view of the church. Breakfast featured fresh regional bread, though extended hours would be beneficial as it got quite busy. The room was small and lacked a fridge, typical for its price range.
